Stauffers Automotive Machine is a specialized technical facility dedicated to Vintage, Restoration, Import/Domestic, & high-performance engine architecture. To maintain our production standards and facility security, we operate strictly under the following professional mandates.
1. Facility Access & Evaluations
No Walk-ins: Unscheduled drop-offs or unannounced visits are not permitted.
Initial Evaluations: All projects must be scheduled for an in-person inspection. This evaluation is a billable service.
Written Estimates: Detailed project planning takes significant technical time. Written estimates require a non-refundable deposit (amount determined by project scope) which will be credited toward your final invoice upon job acceptance.
Technical Support: We are a machining facility, not a technical support or equipment rental service. Our time is billed according to technical expertise.
Project Induction: All engines and components require an upfront, non-refundable deposit for disassembly, cleaning, and safety testing (Magnaflux/Pressure Testing).
Labor Deposits: A 50% labor deposit is required for all projects exceeding $500.
Parts Procurement: 100% of parts costs must be paid in full before any components are ordered. All Parts Sales are Final. Returns are subject strictly to the manufacturer's restocking fees.
Expedited Service: Guaranteed turnaround is available for a non-refundable fee ($200 minimum), subject to shop backlog and Stauffers’ approval.
All Cylinder Head(s) & Engines must be stripped of any fuel injectors/system pieces, ignition, sensors, (Intake/Exhaust Manifolds) and components that we are not servicing for you. If these components are left on, they will be removed (at shop billable rate), and kept aside for you. If there are special tools required to remove injectors/etc., we will NOT be able to accept the job until they are removed (by you or a professional). Stauffers is NOT liable for any of these components.
CNC Verification: All CNC operations include a digital validation report. If a component is found to be outside of serviceable limits during initial probing, a $195 inspection fee will apply.
Stalled Projects: Projects waiting on customer decisions or funds for more than 15 business days will be moved to long-term storage ($50/day fee) and will lose their production queue position.
Completion: Projects not collected within 30 days of completion are subject to storage fees. Unclaimed property after 60 days will be sold to recover outstanding balances.
Stauffers specializes in Multiple (Vintage, Restoration, High-Performance) and racing applications. High-stress environments make components subject to failure beyond the control of the machinist.
NO EXPRESS WARRANTY: Due to the intended nature of our services, ALL WORK IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTY. The customer acknowledges that high-performance components are subject to extreme stresses and that failure can occur regardless of machining quality.
PARTS LIABILITY (REGARDLESS OF SOURCE): Stauffers is a service provider, not a manufacturer. STAUFFERS ASSUMES ZERO LIABILITY FOR THE FAILURE OF ANY COMPONENT, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE PART WAS SUPPLIED BY THE CUSTOMER OR SOURCED/SOLD BY STAUFFERS. * NO COVERAGE FOR DAMAGES: Under no circumstances will Stauffers be liable for secondary damages, labor for removal/reinstallation, towing, shipping, or loss of use resulting from a part failure.
TUNING & INSTALLATION: Any failure resulting from "tuning" (regardless of who performed it), improper installation, oiling system priming, or overheating is the sole responsibility of the client.
DISCRETIONARY REMEDY: We stand behind our precision. If a failure is definitively proven—at the sole satisfaction and discretion of Stauffers—to be the direct result of a machining error on our part, we may, at our own discretion, provide remedial labor.
